A Passion for Paper Crafting

Treat Yourself

Hello, Friends!

Can you believe that it is already the middle of August?! This summer has flown by, and autumn is just around the corner.

I couldn’t let summer pass without some kind of crafty tribute to a summer favorite—ice cream! Simon Says Stamp is hosting its Wednesday Challenge this week with a theme of creating anything except a card, and if possible, to include Lawn Fawn products. Lawn Fawn just released their Fall goodies, but because I am still in a summer mood, I decided to pull out the adorable “Treat Yourself” stamp and coordinating die sets.

I decided to create a tag, which I think would be perfect added to a tiny gift bag that could hold a gift certificate to the recipient’s favorite ice cream shop!

In addition to the adorable stamp and die sets, I also used the pink-colored gingham paper from the 6×6 inch “Gotta Have Gingham” rainbow petite paper pack, along with some pink and white twine. I colored the ice cream container and spoon with OLO Markers and ran the dies through my die-cutting machine multiple times to add dimension. I love how the elements pop off the tag! I’m still getting the hang of using OLO Markers, but I absolutely love them. I find that I am more successful with coloring when I stamp and heat emboss the images, and then add the color—it really makes it easier to stay in the lines.

This is definitely a stamp and die set that I will reach for again and again, because who doesn’t love ice cream?!!

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, wishing you a colorful day!
